Spring Break in Aggieland
The FIFA World Cup will be here before you know it. As you probably know, Coca Cola is the official soft drink of the World Cup, but that doesn’t mean Pepsi doesn’t like soccer, too. Here’s a funny little commercial featuring Kaka, Drogba, Mesi, and “Mesi’s friend”…
Spring Break in Aggieland
The Spring semester continues to roll right along for us in Aggieland. We played our 1st day of 11v11 games on March 6th under beautiful skies and warm weather, shutting out Utah and North Texas. Click here for
So, we are giving our players a mini-vacation this week from soccer activities during Texas A&M’s Spring Break. But, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of activities and events going on in the lives of our current and former players…

4 Aggies Shine for USA under 23 National Team
Four of our current players are in Florida this week, training and playing with the United States under 23 Women’s National Team. A&M is one of 2 schools who had 4 players called up for this event. It’s an exciting week for Bri Young, Whitney Hooper, Kristin Arnold and Rachel Shipley.
Reports and text message conversations with players indicate that the Aggies are doing well and showing well for the National team coaches.
In their 3-1 exhibition match victory over the University of Miami, Hooper scored 1 goal and rachel Shipley assisted on 2. Bri Young is doing well in the middle of the USA defense and Kristin Arnold is the #1 goalkeeper.
The training camp concludes on March 14th, when all 4 Aggies will fly home to take advantage of their spring break. Click Here for

Recruiting News
Spring Break week is always a big week of recruiting for our coaches and 2010 is no different.
At A&M we’re lucky. We have been able to attract great student soccer players to Aggieland for years and years. And, our philosophy has remained much the same over the years – we are looking to bring in players who will make us better immediately. We’re not just looking to bring in good players who can play at the college level – we want great players and leaders who can dominate the college level.
To bring you up to speed – our recruiting efforts for the high school graduating class of 2011 is going well and we’re turning our attention to the nation’s best players in the class of 2012. I wish we didn’t have to try and predict which players are going to be the best a couple years down the line, but that’s just the way college soccer recruiting game has gone.
So, be on the lookout for Aggie coaches turning over rocks all around the USA in search of the players who can help us win more trophies in the future!
My Next Journal
Because of Spring Break, I won’t be able to post a coach’s journal for St. Patrick’s week. Besides, I’m hoping that we’re all out there yelling for and
supporting our Aggie basketball teams in the NCAA Tournament!
I will post my next blog in the week leading up to our next home games, which occur on March 27th, when we host Baylor and Marquette.
Gig ‘em! –Coach G
